Whether you are a member of APHA, or just thinking about the possibility, we offer opportunities for you to learn more about the business of advocacy, and client service.
Here is a list of some of those opportunities. Link from each to learn more.
The APHA Membership Site The premier learning opportunity, of course, is APHA’s own membership site. All members take advantage of thousands of articles, podcasts, webinars, experts, and our well-regarded Connect! Discussion Forum, plus the ability to earn CEs for free. Here’s a sample page: The APHA Online Resource Bank
APHA Academy If you are looking for a soup-to-nuts start-your-own-business, establish-a-successful-practice type program, then APHA Academy may offer what you hope to find. APHA Academy is a partnership between The Alliance of Professional Health Advocates and its sister site, PracticeUP! Online, and presents longer-term learning programs. You do NOT need to be a member of APHA to participate. However, registration for any of the Academy’s programs will provide you with a membership as part of your registration.
PracticeUP! Online, APHA’s sister site, presents individual online courses to help you tackle individual skills like pricing your work, or naming your practice. Courses are shorter in duration than those offered through the Academy; ranging from 15 minutes to several hours. Many of these courses offer CEs (including Ethics CEs). APHA members have access to most of these courses for free or at a discount., However, you do NOT need to be a member of APHA to take PracticeUP! courses.
